How to Make Exercise Exciting and Effective

Wednesday Apr 25, 2012

You can hardly believe your eyes. Looking at the calendar, you’re shocked to realize that it’s only a few ticks away before your friend’s wedding day! You grapple for answers as to how to lose weight fast – fast enough to fit into that cute dress you plan to wear on that special day.

Unlike the chances of Jennifer Aniston finally settling down with a guy, your weight loss goals are not at all that improbable. If you’re the type who views exercise as more of a chore, then you’d be pleased to know that there are some pretty easy and fun ways to shoo away that excess fat around your thighs.

Swim for it. Swimming has gained much acclaim in the fitness world as one of the best exercises for weight loss. It does make a lot of sense, because when you swim, you work out all your major muscle groups. In just a few laps, you’ll be burning fat, just as fast as if you were walking – and you wouldn’t have to break up a sweat!

Get on the cycle. Riding that bicycle which has been gathering dust in your basement will do you a lot of good. Cycling is a great form of exercise as it subjects your body to varying levels of resistance. You can start off with slow pedaling, and move on to more explosive sprinting. Cycling works out mostly your butt, thigh, and calf muscles. If you want to make it more fun by listening to music on your earphones, better not, as you’d want to be vigilant while riding in busy streets. Safety should be on your mind too.

Go on the treadmill. If you’re not too keen on walking around the block with your nosy neighbor hollering at you, then you might prefer walking on a treadmill right in your living room. Doing this ups your metabolism and melts fat fast. Do it in front of the TV, or listen to some funky music just to keep you entertained. You’ll hardly realize that you’ve done 10,000 steps already.

What it all boils down to is that if you want to lose weight effectively, you should keep your body active, and eat right. Resist the urge to pig out after a workout, though. That will defeat the purpose. Instead, snack on healthy, fat-free food.

Choose any form of (active) physical activity you like. Exercise with a friend for that added fun factor and motivation. Spice it up a bit, use your creativity to make exercise fun, and you’ll be burning fat with a smile.
