Saturday Jun 9, 2012

Browsing through the Michael Kelly Guitars guitar center, I became quite curious on who were the greatest guitar players of all time. For those who are guitar enthusiasts they may know these legend guitarists. Some of them may agree with the list but there are those will won’t. Here are the top five guitar players based on the Rolling Stone Magazine:

  • Jimi Hendrix – He was a self-taught guitarist and was influenced by legends in blues music like B.B. King. He played in Woodstock with his ensemble known as Electric Sky Church. This performance is considered as one of the many defining moments of his musical career.
  • Duane Allman – He is a member of the Allman Brothers Band and had a short but meaningful career in recording. He had his first demo tape recorded in 1966 unfortunately his death came as early as 1971.
  • Eric Clapton – Although his flourishing career had to stop because he underwent personal hardships, he was still considered as one of the greatest guitar players of all time. “Clapton is God” is one of the prominent graffiti that you will see in London during the late 1960’s.
  • Robert Johnson – He had a total of 42 recordings and he was considered as one of the extraordinary blues singer in American music industry.
