Today, Google joins the entire world in celebrating the opening of the 2012 Olympics.
The Google homepage will greet you with a doodle of young athletes participating in different sports in the London Games. Letters spelling out the word “Google” depict the sports where the athletes in the doodle excel. Football, swimming, running/jumping, javelin thrown, fencing and basketball are the sports featured in the doodle.
Just like in years past, clicking on the doodle will take you to a search results page for the Summer Olympics.
The 2012 London Olympics starts on July 27 and ends on August 12. Over 10,500 athletes from 204 countries will take part in 302 different events in 26 sports.
