Your fingers are going to take a serious beating from today’s Google Doodle. Once again, our friends at Google seek to entertain us with an interactive doodle game featuring the London 2012 sport of Slalom Canoe, also known as White-Water Slalom.
The objective of the game is to row a decked canoe through a series of hanging gates on river rapids in the shortest possible time. After you go to the Google homepage and click on the play button on the doodle, you repeatedly press the left and right buttons on your keyboard to control the canoe and row faster.
You get more points as you make it through the hanging gates. Failure to pass through the gates will cost you extra seconds.
Canoe Slalom wasn’t considered a real Olympic sport until the Barcelona 1992 games. The athletes in this sport go through a 250-meter white water course. It usually flows at a rate of 13 cubic meters per second, and drops 5.5m from beginning to end.
