Dreaming of Remodeling Our Aged Old House

Thursday May 28, 2009

Before I was born, my parents were able to buy a house in a suburban area in the boundary of Quezon City. Bit by bit they added rooms, garage, dirty kitchen, toilet, and fence. I loved that small house very much that I don’t want anything more added to it. I grew up there and built my dreams. It was small compared to the house where we transferred to after my 15 years of existence. It’s still in the suburbs of QC.

The second house where we moved into was bigger but cheaper. Cheaper because you have to do a lot of fixing and remodeling. My father and his nephew did some carpentry and paint jobs on the roof and ceiling, but it still didn’t look as pretty as I imagined it could be. My artistic brother and my seamstress mother did the enhancements by adding some pretty colored drapes and other ornaments.

Yet we still feel there is still something missing. Oh, gawd. If only have a picture of our house, you’ll see what I mean. It was like a forsaken building with squeaky doors and cabinets and like a haunted house with spider webs everywhere when I first stepped into that house. It badly needs a professional refurbishing.

Our eyes just twinkle and our jaw drop every time we watch Lifestyle Networks’ house makeover shows. Natural stones like Marble looks so elegant in the kitchen. My cousin gave her blue pearl granite kitchen table and what a waste it is surrounded by rusty old cupboards and chipped off tiles. We all wish that someday we’ll be able to make our house elegant and comfortable place to live in.

yeah old house is costing more now. The value is more because of the location.
