For those of you who plan on buying a PlayStation 3 anytime soon, you may want to consider getting the new 80gb SKU which is already available locally. The main difference with the 40gb version is that the new 80gb version comes with a Dual Shock 3 (DS3) controller. Apart from the hard disk size and controller, the old 40gb and the new 80gb PS3′ are relatively the same in specs.

Currently the new 80gb PS3’s retails at 20,000PHP Asian/220v where are as the old 40gb NTSC/j 110v ranges from 17,500-18,500PHP in VMall Greenhills. Note that this is only the core pack, no games included and are cash basis.

DataBlitz was the first one to sell the new version but their price then and now is still pegged at 25,500PHP (cash price), the card price is around 27,000PHP.
