No pain, No gain

Saturday Oct 11, 2008

It may sound as a cliche but this holds heavy meaning in exercising and in many other aspects… Have you ever tried to set your target routine, and 80% through your reps you have a hard time breathing, your muscles are burning and a voice in your head is screaming to stop? People who eventually reach 100% know the bearing of the phrase “no pain no gain“, and are able to surpass their goals not only in exercising but life in general.

Personally, I think this phrase pertains to a person’s will. The person who can push themselves mentally often if not always surpasses their goals in life. The pain doesn’t pertain to the physical aspect to it per se, but the sacrifices you have to make to meet your goals, the gain signifies the fruits of your labor.

Next time you work out, think about the benefits you’re getting not only physically but mentally as well. Once you make a habit of pushing through the pain, things will seem a lot easier for you.
