A few years back I have read from a magazine that we need to walk 10,000 a day in order to be healthy. If an average person’s stride is 2.5 feet, you need to walk at least five miles in one day. As for me, I needed to take about 10 rounds on this route. I have counted my steps and it took me 1, 400 more or less steps in one round. This route is in the subdivision where we live and so sometimes I couldn’t walk on the same path because of passing and parked cars.
Still, walking briskly didn’t make my heart beat faster. Anyhow, walking is considered an exercise, and a very inexpensive one. I tried to jog in between my 5km walk to practice myself into running someday. It still hard for me to keep up with boyfriend. I remember how easy it was for me to run all day long 2 decades ago.
I wasn’t able to reach 10,000 steps today. But I guess reaching 5,000 steps is a good start. On my next walk, I will try to add another thousand until I reach the ten thousand mark. If I weren’t able to do that, I might hit the stationary bike or jog in place.

ang hirap naman nito! hahahah! health wise this is sooo good…but i haven’t been doing that…tamad ako maglakad in short! hahaha
I really have no idea.. but I experienced walking from EDSA to Mendiola.. now how many steps un?

@mye: hehe. ako kase, may mole sa paa kaya sabi nila makati daw paa ko. naku, di talaga ako mapakali pag nakaupo lang ako. nagmana tuloy si yz sakin haha. kahit nung buntis ako, lakad ako ng lakad, kahit may cramps sige lang.

1000 steps? ang hirap ata bilangin nun haha! bili tayo pedometer! hehe.. pero ako talaga mahilig maglakad, favorite exercise, strolling lang anytime, you get to enjoy the scenery, bond w/ someone, and of course get healthy. pero and totoo ata barat lang ako sa pamasahe kaya lakad palage, bwahaha!

ay sus ko. kung dito ka sa baguio nakatira at araw-araw ka umaalis ng bahay, mas madami pa sa 10,000 steps ang malalakad mo. kapagod kaya. haha
