My Mother is into Luck

My mother loves trying her luck in Lotto. I don’t know why, but I don’t understand the logic behind it. She always wanted me to join contests and other “luck” activities which I obliged to.. before.

When I was still living with my parents, my mother would ask me to bet on Lotto whenever I go to the town market which is an hour ride to and fro. She never failed to bet. She would forget about anything but Lotto.

The next day when the draw was over, she would ask my father to look for the results. My father would write it down on his small paper where his other notes where. It’s really a funny sight when my father would hand down the results to my mother. I don’t know why my mother is going gaga over a thing like this. I mean, she would bet once on 7/49 superlotto and she expects to win some amount which is way too far from even the quarter of probability. Tsk.

Anyway, it would be convenient if she can just get the results without us getting out of the house and buying a newspaper, or pester the vendor what numbers won, or wait for a TV announcement (if there’s such a thing).

In the US you can get mega millions results by subscribing and you can get the results in minutes right after the draw. Wouldn’t that be great if my mother can get access to that too?
