My Daughter’s First Teacher

Tuesday Jun 23, 2009

teacher_mommyI am amuse everyday for the things that Yz is doing. I am surprised with the words or phrases she utters.

One time she just said, “I love you very much!” I don’t remember teaching her that neither saying it to her. Maybe from Barney or somewhere in the cartoons that she watches.

Granny said, “you don’t need to send her to school this early. Just wait until she’s four. Besides, you’re always there to teach her. She already had learned a lot from you because you’re focusing on her. Just bring her to the park if you want her to learn to socialize.”

Wow. Granny is a natural critic. Everytime she opens her mouth, you’ll hear something not nice often. Well, maybe she’s just being honest. But this time, she made my day. She had said the beautiful words that any mother would want to hear. I am a very proud mom. haha!

Because the moment I stepped into this house, I thought I am very pathetic because I had to adopt myself into this household (since I don’t wanna stay at home). I thought I have no contribution whatsoever being a freeloader, and that I’m a very bad mom.

These words were very reassuring and I would want to be the mother I always wished I could be. When Yz was 4 months old, I urged Huny to home school Yz instead of sending her to school. Most of the There are times I lose patience with Yz that I would reconsider thinking of getting a nanny or sending her to a daycare. Yet, I will miss her for sure. Besides, I want all the credit for being a good guardian to her. ^^

it pays off to teach your kids first.. kailangan kase ok na ang foundation ng ugali nya before sending her off to school para di ma impluwensyahan ng mga kaklase hehe..

anyways, ganyan talaga, don’t worry when I was homeschooling the kids, I gave up after a month or two and just teach whenevr we were in the mood..

don’t be pressured na you have to teach her evryday like in school, you can teach her in many different and fun ways.. you can teach her science while she is taking a bath, you can teach her numbers while you are walking hehe you can teach her the sounds of letters while she is eating.. naku girl magsasayng ka lang talaga ng datung hehe

anyway, I love your pic!! syet mapagkakamalan tayong magkapatid pag magkasam tayo haha

we’re always be our child’s first teacher talaga. ako, personally, i’m overwhelmed with the responsibility. how can i teach her when i have issues myself. it’s really hard but we have to make the best with what we can do.

ganun naman ata talaga. kahit alam natin sa sarili natin na we’re doing fine as a mom to our kids, it’s still fulfilling to hear from others na “o you’re doing a good job”. hmm.. in fairness. like ko na si granny. hihi
