Brainy Baby’s Right Brain (Inspires Creative Thinking) is one of the award winning series of the Brainy Baby Learning Library. It has been chosen as one of the TOP 10 Videos by Dr. Toy and Parenting Magazine. The Brainy Baby Learning Library was created and produced by a team of professionals, experts, and neurologists who specialize in Early Childhood Education. Each DVD in the Library reinforces an age-appropriate concept; from cognitive development for babies, up to pre-school subjects like letters, numbers, music, art appreciation.

Since children will learn concepts faster if they can relate to the object, and respond positively to familiar items and other children’s faces, these videos and DVDs from The Brainy Baby Learning Library are integrated with bright colors, familiar objects, positive music and friendly, encouraging voices. The programs are intentionally designed without a start to finish storyline. In this way, your child can enjoy it at his/her own, replaying favorite chapters. It’s best to watch the videos together with your child. Research says that pausing between new words or concepts help very young children concentrate on learning. Infants/Toddlers’ minds are like sponges. Interesting and cognitive stimulation happen in every single thing that they encounter.

The Right Brain video focuses on cognitive skills such as creative thinking, music, art, drawing, rhymes, spatial reasoning, holistic, synthesizing, imagination, intuition, etc. It also features classical music and gentle voices that both parents and kids can enjoy. This video is appropriate for 6-36 month olds. The video is more on toys, how to play a specific toy, learning cause and effect, and sometimes a kid playing with that toy. It’s very fascinating for infants to watch the wonderful colors and spinning objects and really boost their creative thinking.

This particular DVD, Right Brain (The Brainy Baby Learning Library) from the package that I have is defected. The disc itself had cracked in the middle due to everyday use. I do hope that they used a good quality media for these kinds of videos since we need to play the movie over and over again. And the play selection part is not working properly. I have to do a work around just to play the whole video. I’m not satisfied with the price (even though it was given as a gift) since this DVD is defective in many aspects. Again, The Brainy Baby Learning Library is used as an interactive learning tool, just as the way you do with a book or a toy. But don’t forget to pace the viewing session to avoid over stimulation of your child. My daughter watches the whole 40 minute runtime every night before she sleeps. Yeah, I think my kid is over-stimulated. ^^
