Second DMPA Shot

After all my bickering about the side effects of DMPA, I reconsidered on not having it. Although one obgyne told me that I should have transvaginal ultrasound first before she give me any medication, I still consulted my “real” obgyne to what to do next.

My uterus is .4 thin and it means I’m not pregnant or is going to be pregnant. I’m just wondering why I have menses since I’m expecting no mens at all. I later realized that the side effects could be spotting, heavy bleeding or no mens (amenorhea) for the first year. Most women that I asked said they had no mens at all. Maybe they just forgot that the first months they had DMPA, they were bleeding.

My other concern is my depreciating bone mass. I bought generic calcium carbonates to support my bones and hopefully, I’d be able to walk, jog or bike everyday. I can now handle my mood swings and depression, although at times it gets the better of me. So far, 80 percent of the time I am able to control my crankiness.

I also considered having DMPA because according to the Family Planning Chart in the clinic, DMPA is highly effective compared to condoms which have a little chance of getting a woman pregnant. I’m not sure how, so we decide on using the DMPA and the condom. I will have to kill myself if I get pregnant after using 2 contraceptives. LOL

This second shot was more painful than the first one. Maybe the powder hasn’t dissolved properly and the nurse dispatched the solution on my butt. I’m expecting half of my right leg will feel uncomfortable for the next few days. Aw.
