My father had retired from working as a seaman over a decade ago. Since he stayed mostly at home, he had the time to fix whatever it is needed to mend in our almost dilapitated house. When we moved in to another house, the walls are more sturdy than the previous one. But the problem parts are the water pipes and the roof. So everytime it pours heavily outside, it rains on the inside as well.
Luckily, over the years that he’d work for in the sea, he was able to save some hand tools that I used to play with. He may not be a master crafter but he is resourceful in any way that he even made his own wood ladder. He had 1 huge steel cabinet where he keeps all his workshop accessories. Other tools are kept on the mini-garage at the back of the house.
When there’s a carpentry needed to be done at home, he would just call my cousin’s husband to help him. I really wished we had jig saws or circular saws like the ones I saw on TV. They could’ve done their jobs easily (never mind the noise). Measure twice, cut once. ^^
Mike used to ask me if my father has power drills he could borrow to bore holes into his rig’s side panel. I hoped I could find it in my father’s garage. But nope. He has none.
