Mike was able to attend the race.. Yahoo! I had to force myself to sleep so I’d be able to join him. We should be leaving at 4 in the morning and it was 12 midnight and I was still awake. I was excited cuz I’ll be his official photographer for the event.
We almost got lost going to Bonifacio Global City. Bj, Mike’s comrade, was the one who drove the car to send us to the location. The assembly time of 10k race was 5:15 in the morning, and we were still trekking South (c5 Road) 5:05am. my gawd!
As it is Filipino time, the actual race started at 5:45 so they made it in time to warm up. Mike and Bj looked for the booth, the Official’s Tent, and was told to place their disposable timers on their shoes. We weren’t able to buy Gatorade along the way. There were 100 Plus booths in there.. and they were for free! sponsors. hehe!
There were 6 thousand plus racers that day, from children, teens, adults, and even dogs. I was waiting for Mike near the finish line. I’ve watched different runners, posers, or whatever they are. I knew Mike will return by 50 minutes, cuz he usually runs 55 minutes 10 times around Capitol.
I was looking at clock on the finish line every now and then cuz I thought I missed him. When I wasn’t looking, that’s the time he passed by me. So I had to run and chase him to get a better shot. Aw.. I missed his shoe.
He finished at 1 hour and 2 seconds because he said the actual distance took him more than 10km. It’s 10.74 according to his pedometer. Next time I’ll join him in the race and not only be the photographer.

10km? Wow! That is such a long run! I mean, well, if he did train good for it, no wonder he did it and he did it real good! Cngratulations, Mike! Congratulations also to the photographer Fedzh.
