Panasonic NA-F60G2E

Saturday Aug 15, 2009

I was with the Granny and Mike when they bought this washing machine, Panasonic NA-F60G2E from Megamall about 6 years ago. Mike was the one who chose this after the salesclerk talked about its specs. Back then, I think it was Php 14,000.00.

It is roughly 3 feet high and 2×2 feet wide. I can fit in 2 cotton bed sheets at the same time with about 6 sets of pillow cases. (I guess that depends on the thickness and type of linen). Nope, I didn’t try to carry it, so I’m not sure how heavy the whole machine is. ^^

The whole washing time, a standard hose (which you’ll be buying separately) should be connected to a faucet where it automatically sprinkles water when needed. And the hose connected to the washing machine where the water comes out from should always be down.

It has three processes: Wash, Rinse, Spin. Before you turn on the power, make sure the hoses are on their places. Press Start/Hold button and the rotator will spin left and right (as if warming up). The water will then flow through the hole from the upper side. After filling up the machine with about 16 Liters of water, it will spin for a minute, afterwhich it will add another 14 liters I think. You can view it from the left panel where the water level is.

On the sides you can see the liquid detergent dispensers but I don’t use them. I just place the powder detergent just after the water pours in.

After spinning for about five to 10 minutes (I think it depends on the weight of the garments in it), it will now remove the water and spin fast like squeezing together the garments to remove excess water and soap.

Every Process is highlighted with red. You’ll notice that the red light will be blinking on the Rinse process and the one on the Spin is stationary. Maybe that’s because right after washing and rinsing, it will spin for a few seconds.

It will then pour water on the same leverage. It’s up to you if you want to add fabric conditioner at this time. Since I use Downy Isang Banlaw, I pour it in the water and mix using my hand just before it rotates. The same rotation happens and it will remove again the water automatically after a few minutes of spinning and spins again so fast squeezing the water off the clothes.

If you have placed less than 10 clothes, when you get them out, it’s as if they’re ready to be folded. They’re not as dry when you use a spin drier, but almost. So when the sun is scorching hot, you only need to hang it for an hour and voila, it’s ready to be used again. So if you washed early in the morning, late in the afternoon, your clothes are dried up already.

Since I only use the Normal Process, I haven’t use the Soak Process and the other programs like Speedy, Delicate, tub dry, Reserve and Child Lock. Maybe someday when I can have my own machine like this, I can soak my clothes in it.

So what I do is just soak the white clothes in a separate pail, where I leave them for an hour (sometimes a day if I have other stuff to attend to) and then scrub by hand if needed before putting them into the washing machine.

It saves time and prevents backache. I have a free 20 to 30 minutes, while the clothes are spinning in the washing machine. I can blog, stretch, or wash Yz’s bottles. ^^

ayan pa rin washing machine nyo now? tibay ah. 6 years. mas malakas sa kuryente yung drier kesa sa spinner. baka mas magreklamo the Aunts kung nagkataon. hihi..
