Hang Ups

A bad news greeted me this morning. According to the Aunt (that according to her mom, who said that the maid said that the Granny said.. see I should confirm it first) that I cannot use the spin “drier” because they say it consumes too much electricity. First of all, it’s not a spin drier. If you remember my review about the washing machine we use here in the house, it does not make your clothes totally dry that they are ready to be worn, folded, or ironed.

It will negate the purpose of me using the washing machine cuz I use it mainly to spin “dry” the clothes so I told myself I will just go back to hand washing. My happy days are over for now cuz I really want to talk to the Granny and confirm this. I really don’t have problem with hand washing. It’s just agitating that the maid had to ask somebody else to say something like this when all the while we’re chatting like we’re buddies. Tsk. How hypocrites people can be.

So as expected the clothes didn’t dry up even though I’ve washed at 11 in the morning. It didn’t rain but it was cloudy. The iron rod hangers I bought came in handy when I had to bring them inside to use the electric fan to blow them dry. Anyway, the iron rods are better than the pipeline that I was in my mind cuz I won’t be able to bring them inside.

These iron rod poles (or whatever you call them) weigh more or less 5 pounds. They are easily assembled using screw driver and pliers. But since it is light, when the wind blows hard and there are clothes hanging, it will most likely fall.

The small hangers which has Yz’s diapers, towels, and other little things, I hanged in the room. See how cramped everything look? Geez.

Line drying your clothes actually preserves the look of it. The kind of dryer we have here in the US makes your clothes look faded and they wear out faster. I got a iron rod like you have and been using it to air dry our good clothes. Yung mga lumang damit or blanket too big to line dry, yun lang ginagamitan ko ng dryer. You actually can save money doing that – on electric bill and keeps your clothes from wearing out too fast. Good idea !

since you’re having it laundried (is that even a word) outside na, i guess you have no probs with the Aunt anymore (or whoever said that the Granny said what she said). whew.
