Surgical Socks

Friday Oct 2, 2009

Have I told you how thin-skinned I am.. well, literally and figuratively. Anyway, I always have to wear socks when I go to bed, otherwise I’ll wake up in the morning with leg cramps or diarrhea. They say, when your feet is exposed to cold, it will cause your stomach to feel cold as well. I don’t know if it’s just me or that I’m just sensitive but when I am in cold places, my tummy hurts and causes me to go to the toilet every now and then.

So I couldn’t live without socks. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to sleep properly. Blankets will do but my feet will still feel bare. (I know Pehpot, you know what I mean). My mother always tells me to rub baby oil on my legs and feet before I go to sleep so they’ll feel warm. I guess that’s what gives her comfort. My mom has a terrible varicose veins which she had in her late 20s. It’s so terrible that the doctor said that she couldn’t bear more another child (after me). Anyway, she’s already 35 years old then when she had me.

It’s my mom’s birthday last September 29 and I couldn’t think of anything to give her. I couldn’t give her a massage, or another knitting or cross stitching stuff and since I couldn’t afford a laser treatment for her venous veins,  I think compression socks will be the best option.

If I’ll be getting one for her, I might get athletic socks for me and boyfriend as well. Anyway there are jobst compression stockings for men and women of all sizes and for different purposes other than for venous veins. They also have for diabetics, skin ulcer, anti embolism, and for pregnant women. I wish I have heard of this when I was pregnant. hehehe

A great pair of socks can help cushion all the weight one puts on one’s feet. I’m sure your mom will love it.

I know of a surgical gloves but never of a surgical socks. Although socks do help especially when its very cold. I think any gift you give your mom will surely be appreciated.

I can stand the cold din as long as my feet is relatively warm. Yung comforter I wrap around my feet when I sleep kasi pag nalamigan hindi ako comfortable.

Teka sabi ko nga matutulog na ako.
