Oh no. Yzabella can now twist the doorknob and pull open the door. I knew she can reach the knob but I was so carefree. I was then going out to apply for a student driver’s license last week. Since Yz was busy watching TV, I thought I can leave her with her sleeping Dad. I know Yz can entertain herself. But before I left, Yz wanted to go with me. I told her I would just go down to the bathroom and wash my face, but was planning on going ahead.
But mother’s instinct, I went up to check up on her and saw her sitting on the stairs just outside our door. Oh my gush! She was waiting for me patiently. She didn’t cry or called for me. She’s just there sitting. What a pity. The daddy who was fast asleep is practically dead to the world. So I brought Yz along and went somewhere else instead.
About a month ago I’ve been meaning to buy a lock for our door. Just a simple lock and set it up high where she and even me couldn’t reach unless I use a chair to step onto. I guess I shouldn’t procrastinate now. Sigh. It would be cool if there are keyless lock available here, like the ones they use in computer cases nowadays, biometric fingerprint recognition. Have you seen those? You don’t need password, just your fingerprints.
Aside from burglars, I can also use that to keep outsiders barging in our room (yep, we don’t have our own house yet), aside from keeping Yz inside. Only mine and Mike’s fingerprints will be used. Unless we are super agents who are in demand like Sydney Bristow, or chuck Bartowski, I guess we don’t have to worry about other spies wanting our fingers cut to get into our homes (systems) otherwise I’ll have other parts of our bodies scanned, like in the movie Monsters vs. Aliens.
