Perry’s 50 + 5

Happy Birthday, Perry! Okay, I guess you’re still wondering why we only call him by his first name even though Perry is Mike’s father. Well, that’s just the way it is. LOL won’t be telling you the whole story why.

Anyway, Perry Mamaril is a light sculpture artist every weekend and a sous chef on weekdays. His arts can be seen at Cendrillon, Tama Gallery, Kuma Inn, and in Purple Yam where he also cooks from time to time (I think). Yeah, I’m not sure cuz we don’t talk about it.

In case you’re wondering, Mike designed Perry’s site from scratch. Are they born artists? Yes, I guess it runs in the blood. lol. And this is why we went to Santi Bose’ art gallery at Yuchengco Museum where I should’ve worn an LBD…woot!

Thin Blue Line by Perry Mamaril

Perry Mamaril made this in US and shipped it here. I remember he called us telling about a new project where he’d be using a led light. It was nicely placed on the wall. You won’t see the chord of the led light so it’s like a glow in the dark light.

Gayaman was one of Perry’s first works as far as I can remember. Lookie up! Yes, that first picture was in Cendrillon. If you noticed I scratched off Cendrillon cuz I think it’s closed now and yeah, they’ve put up a new one – Purple Yam.

Okay, before this post gets too long (is this a biography or what?) I really just wanted to wish him a Happy Birthday… even though when we talk through the phone I only say “yeah.. so, how is it there?.. oh, here’s Yz…. Hello.. yeah.. uhm.. here’s Mike.” That speechless huh? hehe.
