Since the introduction of the remote desktop application on the Windows Operating System, there had been only a few similar applications have provided the same stability and feature set that the remote desktop offers. One of those software is PROXY Pro 7 Workstation Edition which has robust feature set to cater to all segments of the market requiring remote control software.
Though its main focus is on the business sector in the line of collaborative development troubleshooting, monitoring and so on, it also caters to simple needs such as remote file access or remote home desktop administration. This type of software emphasizes on collaborative development applications with features such as online chat, user polling, windows authentication, storing event logs, and extensive user security measures (stealth mode, customized authorization and restricted access).
It picks up where the free remote data application left off which is severely lacking in features that are commonly sought after in these types of applications like multi-operating system support. What it lacks in competitive pricing it makes up with an extensive lists of features and a solid security layer ranging from 92- to 256-bits (by default).
One example that these applications work best for non-techie person like me (who always need a technical support) was when I was still living with my parents and I needed something to do with my computer that I can’t figure out. Mike remotely accessed my machine from his place and I had fun looking at my mouse pointer moving by itself. Great for technicians who don’t fancy doing field work. They can stay on their workstations and still able to manage multiple computers. ^^

too bad proxy 7 is not free.
talking about remote access, theres lots of options to choose from.
you can try logmein. – remote access is free, advance features are not. (logmein.com). Teamewer – everything is free for personal use.
both remote access are good and installation is chicken.
If you are familliar with windows RDP, you can use the Windows Built in remote desktop program. all you have to do is port forward the windows remote access port in your router and whalla! your machine is accessible everywhere.
