Lymphedema garments, bandages and sleeves are intended to help people suffering from lymphedema and help them reduce swelling of the affected parts of their body.
Lymphedema is a disorder of the lymphatic system of the body which causes the interruption of the flow of lymphatic fluid in our system. This in turn causes swelling of affected body parts where special lymphedema garments, lymphedema bandages and lymphedema arm sleeve are meant to help relieve it. These garments are essential in the decongestive treatment of lymphedema.
The most common treatment being administered to lymphedema people are the complete decongestive or manual treatment. The decongestive treatment of lymphedema though is usually done manually through massage. This massage therapy stimulates the flow of fluid in the tissues, thus, reduce swelling and give patients the relief that they need.
However, although the decongestive therapy reduces swelling in the patient’s body through pressured massage, it is still a necessity to use custom made garments, bandages and sleeves for maintenance of the pressure that helps stimulates normal flow of fluid in the affected parts.
Although advanced treatments for lymphedema like surgery and laser are being practiced now by the medical profession, the need for compressive bandages and pre-measured custom built bandages are still of utmost importance to sufferers who can only depend of this kind of therapy.
