I was excited to open my Friendster Inbox after receiving a notification in my email that ‘this friend’ has sent me a message. I thought, “Wow, I didn’t thought she’d reply to my private message that fast (she seldom checks her friendster). You can only imagine what I felt after opening this private message which read: fedhz, meet with (name) at EGO Love Lounge! Geez! Another spam message!!! This is the fourth time I have received spam from my friendster inbox! And to top it all of, this link is actually from Friendster too! It’s ironic that they would be sending me spams when they have this SPAM ALERT against spammers!
I am so pissed that I thought blogging about it would just give Friendster publicity. (Bad publicity is still publicity). Well, in fairness, Friendster had served me well in the last 5 years.
Although I love art, I didn’t put any fancy designs on my friendster. I am contented with the white background. Well, that’s the reason why I liked it because it is so simple to navigate and straightforward compared to other community sites which I find too complicated.
I signed up for a Friendster Account December of 2003 (to keep my friend from buggin’ me to sign up). Anyway, I liked it since I was able to rekindle old friendships and make new ones. I used Friendster mostly to communicate with my friends (batchmates in highschool, elementary, and college). Friendster served as my secondary email since friends usually reply through their friendster accounts.
Now I am receiving comments that are obviously just advertising their websites or what not. The worst part is I cannot delete those senseless comments. The comment section looked nicer before because they only contain testimonials about the User, and not glittery stuff that they just got from some sites or another plug in or app (application?). It’s no fun anymore.. If I would like that kind of site then I will just have to multiply or facebook (which I still can’t get the hang of).
People’s friendster accounts are infested with videos and mp3 plugins or whatever you call them, and all those crappy designs which makes the texts hard to read. Okay, I’m beginning to be OC again. Anyway, it’s just me. The point is, I hate Spam! Please Friendster! Do I have to report each and every spammer that infests my inbox?

Hi fedhz, I know exactly how you feel. You can still considered yourself lucky as your account has not been infected with the latest Friendster spam comment. There have been hundreds of people embarassed and humiliated as a result of this virus. THANK GOD I found this great blog post on how to stop the spam (Save yourself before its too late):
