This is the advocate of Pediasure. Since kids 3 years old and above are more enthusiastic to play, they tend to miss eating meals hence could increase the risk of nutritional gaps that may result in:
- weight loss
- growth retardation
- reduced energy
- susceptibility to illness
- impaired immunity
For hard to feed kids we should:
- Avoid distractions while the kids eat
- Adopt a neutral attitude toward eating behavior
- Feed at Specific intervals and avoid snacking to encourage appetite
- Limit the duration of meals
- Use age-appropriate foods
- Introduce novel foods
- Encourage independent feeding
- Tolerate age appropriate messiness when eating
Nutritionist, Michelle Clet introduced me to PediaSure. Pediasure saves you money for buying other vitamins since it provides a lot of nutrition and vitamin C. Two glasses of Pediasure equates to 3 glasses of vitaminized milk, 5ml growth syrup, and 20ml Vitamin C and 3 Probiotics capsules.
Although I have checked out some probable reasons why my daughter, Yz is not eating properly, at her age of 3 years and 3 months, she isn’t underweight (actually her pediatrician says she’s overweight since she based on Yz’s birthweight) and that her height is just right for her age.
After Yz finishes her Nido we will try this one out. Mike says it tastes like Gain Plus (both pricey too for almost Php900 for 900g where Nido is only Php800 for 2500g). Yz consumed 2 cups although she didn’t like Gain when she was younger. Let’s see. Anyway, Pediasure is available in vanilla and choco flavor.
