Hey, Mr.AZ.. I’m Yours!

December 30, 2008, while feeling lost in the crowd looking for my kid and her dad, I heard a group of Filipinos playing this song on stage. It was lovely. I’m sure I have heard it from somewhere and from that moment on it stuck to my mind.

Who could have sung this originally? I thought. (No offense to my fellow countrymen). When we got home, boyfriend played his mp3 collection The Billboard 2008 Year-End Hot 100 and this song was number 27. “Who sang that?” I asked him. But I didn’t wait for his answer and look at it myself. What? Jason Mraz! …. Aw.. He’s so cool. I used to listen to his songs before!

It was spur of the moment. I was debating myself if I should shoot it or not. Also no time to set the digicam, forgive me. Anyway, can someone recognize who this Pinoy (Filipino) group is?

Err.. I can’t upload it.. anyway, suit yourself with Jason MrAz himself!

Yeah, I love this song! It’s the same feeling I get when I listen to Adam Sandler’s Grow Old With You. When you first listen to it, you just want to close your eyes and sway slowly with the beat. It was only then when I read the lyrics that I realized that it has a sexual connotation  (at least that’s how I understand it) like the song 2 Become 1 by Spice Girls. On to a deeper meaning, it’s like he’s saying “Trust me…Be bold. There’s nothing to be afraid of…” affirming…

Come on and open up your mind and see like me
(I won’t hesitate)
Open up your plans and damn you’re free
(No more, no more)
Look into your heart and you’ll find that the sky is yours
(It cannot wait, I’m sure)

I think this is also a good expression if boyfriend will pick a new song to dedicate to me. He always comment how I love to complicate things. I remember boyfriend used to sing…”I’ll stop the world and melt with you…” okay.. another sexy song?…
