Happy Birthday to the Balls! Bucky balls that is. 25 years in the world and since Harold Kroto, James Heath, Sean O’Brien, Robert Curl and Richard Smalley discovered you!
What are or what is a Bucky ball in the first place? It’s like an atom really. It’s more or less spherical in shape. And at times scientists use it in explaining molecules and the like. But why is it popular? It’s because it has been used in pop culture and also in different genres.
It is like an exoskeleton of a golf ball but not just that, some experts often compare it to a football. It is also in the famous PC game Civilization: Call to Power. It is even the state molecule of Texas.
