In the US, the month of September is considered as the Youth Soccer Month. This 2011 is already the 9th year of the America’s largest youth sports association which is the US Youth Soccer. It aims to promote the benefits that young people can get from playing soccer.
Taken from the words of the US Youth Soccer president, John Sutter; soccer is a wonderful sports and has so many things to offer. One of the sports associations’ missions is to foster physical, mental and emotional development of the youth.
The association will also be joining the Worldwide Day of Play this September. It is an entire day dedicated to do active play. Together with other organizations it is a day filled with family activities. There are 13 countries and 50 states who will participate in Worldwide Day of Play.
Apart from the Day of Play, there are also more than 30 college events scheduled in celebration of the Youth Soccer Month. Spectators will be given freebies such as t-shirts and hand fans. There is also a Give-away Day where participants will get the chance to win soccer balls and a lot more.
