Today is the 75th birthday of the genius behind every child’s favourite The Muppets, Jim Henson. Google pays tribute with the interactive doodle which allows every web user to become a puppeteer.
It featured the original characters created by Jim Henson in his Digital Puppetry Studio. These colourful characters will follow the movement of your mouse and once you click on the character, it will start to talk.
He was born in 24th of September 1936 and passed away in 1990 because of Streptococcus pyogenes. According to his son Brian Henson, who is now the chairman of The Jim Henson Company his dad was also playful , happy and very creative person. Two years after Jim Henson’s death, he was given the Courage of Conscience Award from The Peace Abbey.
Jim Henson’s Muppet characters performed in popular kiddie shows like “Sesame Street”, “The Muppet Show” and other shows like “Fragile Rock Apart from the mentioned kiddie shows, his puppets also performed in “The Dark Crystal” and “Labyrith” Among his popular Muppet characters are Kermit the Frog, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch and rest of the lovely furry characters in Sesame Street. It was in 1970’s when the Muppets together with Miss Piggy got the primetime television slot.
