As Natural as Ascof Lagundi

Since my mother is hands on when it comes to taking care of us, I grew up eating fruits and vegetables which she grew in our own backyard. Going to the doctor is the last option whenever we got sick, so every time we had fever or colds, she resorted to giving us lots of fluids (water, boiled oregano leaves and such), prepare her make-shift nebulizer, and sponge-bath us every time the fever went up.

Hamzah Marbella: Raising a Child Prodigy

“The World’s Youngest Art Prodigies (Artists who got their start when they were still in diapers)” such as Kieron Williamson who is dubbed as the next Monet Akiane Kammarick who started when she was only four years old and also Wang Yani, who had an exhibit at Smithsonian even at the very young age. At the age of 12, Hamzah Marbella is the Philippine representative in the world of art.

Hamzah possesses an unusual gift because he was already producing art forms and painting at the age when younger kids are just learning how to walk and talk. At the age of two, he would use various materials such as bottle caps, clothes pin and stones to create art forms. Hamzah’s artwork “Bounty” was auctioned for the amount of HK$60,000 and he was just five years old at that time. His art piece was actually the third highest item bought at the charity auction of International Care Ministries.

Aside from this feat, Hamzah also received numerous national and international awards and accolades. He is also the youngest member of the Artists Association of the Philippines. To date, the young artist has produced 300 artworks under his name and some of his works were featured at various Asian exhibits and even in UN Headquarters in New York City.

Promil Pre-school recognized the exceptional talent of Hamzah as an Outstanding Child Artist. Together with Hamzah are other exceptionally gifted children including his fellow painter CJ de Silva. These children are considered as walking testaments of Promil’s heritage of nurturing gifted kids as well as exceptional Filipino talents.

Parents play an important role in developing their children’s gift to excellence. The achievements of Hamzah are truly an inspiring story that will surely encourage Filipino parents to nurture the talents of their children. Promil-Preschool aims to recognize young kids like Hamzah; to inspire and develop the talent of the new generation towards excellence.

Using Hamzah’s own words “with paintings, my hands are able to say things that mouth can’t.” Parents who nurture the talents of their kids by encouraging them and making sure that they get sufficient nutrients from the food they eat is one way of telling their kids that they care for them. The parents’ active role in the development of their kids is essential in raising an excellent child.

And The World Will Be As One

I understand your pain, your frustration and anger. I am too, is hurt, frustrated and angry. I can’t suggest any resolution but I know one thing, that killing and war won’t make this any better.

Hatred begets hatred. Let’s all start to be nice to one another.
