Just finished watching Coraline with Yzabella. As the movie goes to the point where she opens the little door (the height of a dolly), I think it resembles Alice in Wonderland (one of my favorite childhood stories) with a cat minus the rabbit. But what led Coraline to the door was a mouse. Coraline is [...]

I didn’t thought I would like the movie since some friends (mostly guys) didn’t like it.
I cannot think of any more words to describe how much I enjoy this movie. I’ve watched it over a hundred times in different media types, from Betamax, VHS, VCD and now in DVD. When they show it on local tv or cable tv, I don’t miss watching any of my favorite scenes. My only rant about the DVD copy is that it only has 1 DVD unlike other movie packages which include 2 discs which has the “making of the movie”. I am very fond of watching behind the scenes, so I would appreciate it if they’d included it on the DVD.

Reminiscent of the classic TV show, the Swiss Family Robinson, the 2008 remake of the Jules Verne classic, Journey to the center of the Earth is a good watch for the young and old alike. The effects were an upgraded version of the old cinematic effects of the 1980s which added to the nostalgic feel of the film.
